Granule filling machines fill measured quantities of granular, pelleted, or flaked solid products into bags, pouches, jars, bottles, or cans. The correct filling technology depends on the granule size, uniformity, bulk density, fragility, and target fill weight. Multihead combination weighers are the standard for high-speed granule filling where fill accuracy is critical — they work by simultaneously weighing multiple individual portions and selecting the best combination to meet the target weight. They are ideal for snacks, nuts, seeds, coffee beans, dried fruit, and confectionery. Linear weighers (single or multi-head belt or vibratory) are used for granular food products at medium speed (10–40 bags per minute) where the product is more fragile or cannot run on a multihead weigher. Cup volumetric fillers use fixed-volume rotating cups to dose free-flowing, uniform granules (sugar, small seeds, plastic pellets) where high speed matters more than precise weight. Auger fillers can handle some small-granule or micro-granule products but are better suited to powders. For large-bag granule filling (25kg or 50kg sacks of rice, fertiliser, plastic granules, or animal feed), open-mouth bagging machines with linear weighers fill and seal preformed woven PP, paper, or PE bags at 300–1,200 bags per hour. For consumer-size pouches (50g–1kg), a VFFS machine combined with a multihead weigher is the standard configuration.
