Sachet packing machines produce small, sealed portion-pack pouches — the standard format for sauce portions, sugar, salt, coffee sachets, shampoo samples, condiment sachets, powdered drink sachets, and pharmaceutical powder or liquid unit doses. The primary machine types are: horizontal form-fill-seal (HFSS) sachet machines — the film is unwound horizontally, the sachet is formed, filled, and sealed in a horizontal process; HFSS is the standard for liquid and viscous products (sauce sachets, honey, shampoo, cosmetic sample sachets) because the horizontal orientation allows controlled filling without spillage. Multi-lane HFSS machines use multiple forming tubes side by side to produce multiple sachets simultaneously — dramatically increasing production output; standard multi-lane configurations are 4–20 lanes for small sachets (5–30mL). Vertical sachet machines (based on VFFS technology in small sachet format) form sachets vertically from a film roll — used primarily for powder and granule sachets (sugar, salt, coffee, spice, dried soup powder). Stick pack machines produce a narrow cylindrical sachet (a 'stick') — the standard format for single-serve coffee, tea, sugar, and powdered supplement sachets; stick packs are narrow and tall, fitting into a standard mug or cup opening. Doy-pack sachet machines produce small stand-up sachets — used for premium single-serve liquid products, honey, and concentrated food sachets where a premium appearance is needed. Machine performance parameters: sachet size range (width × height), fill volume or weight range, number of lanes, production speed (sachets per minute per lane), film compatibility (single-layer, laminate, metallised — the same film types used for standard flexible pouches).
