Metal drainage moulds — types, specifications, and wholesale procurement

Metal drainage moulds (also called concrete drainage formwork or precast drainage forms) are used by precast concrete manufacturers and construction contractors to produce drainage channels, U-channels, V-channels, box culverts, road kerbs, and surface water management units at scale. Common types: U-channel moulds (standard sizes 100mm–600mm wide), V-channel moulds for rural roads and agriculture, box culvert moulds (rectangular section pipe), kerb stone moulds, and gutter moulds. Heavy-duty drainage moulds for infrastructure projects are fabricated from 5–10mm steel plate. Light-duty moulds for on-site casting are available in 3–4mm plate. Material options: mild steel plate (most common — Q235 or S235JR) welded construction, cast iron (for long production runs with high dimensional accuracy requirements), fibreglass-reinforced steel (composite — lighter, corrosion-resistant), and stainless steel (for specialty applications). Steel moulds are typically treated with oil, release agent coating, or powder coat on the non-contact surfaces. For wholesale buyers, drainage moulds are sold per unit or per matched set (inner + outer mould pair). Custom sizes are standard in this category — most suppliers can fabricate to specific channel width, depth, wall thickness, and length dimensions. Buyers should specify: channel profile (U, V, box), internal dimensions (width × depth), mould length (typically 1m or 0.5m sections), wall thickness of cast product, steel grade, surface treatment, and any connection hardware (assembly bolts, alignment pins).
