Carbonated soft drink production involves several integrated stages. Water treatment prepares the process water to a consistent quality using filtration (sand, activated carbon), softening, UV disinfection, and often reverse osmosis — treated water must meet stringent quality standards for mineral content, chlorine, and microbial purity. Syrup preparation dissolves sugar (or prepares high-fructose corn syrup dilutions) and blends with concentrated flavours, colours, acid, and preservatives in a stainless steel syrup mixing vessel. Simple syrup is produced by dissolving sugar in treated water; finished (final) syrup is produced by adding flavour concentrate to simple syrup. Beverage blending (proportioning) mixes finished syrup and treated water at a precise ratio in a continuous proportioner. Carbonation dissolves CO₂ gas into the blended beverage under pressure in a carbonator or carbonating tank — the CO₂ level is a key product specification measured in volumes. Filling is done isobarically (counter-pressure filling) to prevent foam formation — the container is pre-pressurised with CO₂ before filling. Capping seals the container immediately. Date-coding, labelling, secondary packaging, and palletising complete the line.
