Tube filling and sealing process and applications

A tube filling and sealing machine fills product into collapsible tubes and seals the open tail end. The standard tube-filling process: empty tubes (pre-printed, pre-shouldered with cap already applied) are loaded into the machine's tube holders with the open tail end upward; each tube is filled through the open tail with a measured dose of product from a piston or gear-pump dosing system; the open tail is then sealed by one of several sealing methods; a batch code, production date, or lot number is embossed or printed on the sealed tail. Tube materials and compatible sealing methods: aluminium tubes — the classic tube for pharmaceutical ointments, cosmetic creams, and art paints; aluminium tubes are sealed by mechanically folding and crimping (double or triple fold) the soft aluminium tail; no heat required.
