Buscar equipamentos para snacks →Snack categories and their machinery
Snack food machinery covers several distinct production technologies. Extruded snacks — corn puffs, cheese balls, ring snacks, and cereal-based products — use single-screw or twin-screw food extruders that cook and form the product under heat and pressure in a single step. The extruded product is then dried in an oven or fluidised bed dryer, seasoned in a drum coater, and packaged. Fried snacks — potato chips, cassava chips, and fried wheat snacks — use a washing, peeling, slicing, and blanching line followed by a continuous belt or batch fryer with oil management, a seasoning drum, and packaging. Puffed rice and wheat products use extrusion or hot-air puffing equipment. Tortilla chips and nachos require a masa preparation (lime cooking and grinding), sheeting, cutting, baking, and frying line. Each snack category requires a substantially different machinery configuration — buyers should confirm that the supplier has experience with their specific product type.
Oil management and frying equipment
Continuous belt fryers are the standard for industrial snack frying. Oil management is a critical part of the system: a continuous filter removes crumbs and debris from the frying oil, and a heat exchanger maintains oil temperature. Fresh oil make-up replaces oil consumed by the product. Total Polar Materials (TPM) content of the frying oil must be monitored and managed to maintain oil quality and comply with food safety regulations — the EU sets a maximum TPM limit of 25% for frying oils in food manufacturing. Buyers evaluating fryer suppliers should ask about: oil throughput rate, filtration system, oil heating method (gas or electric), oil temperature uniformity across the belt width, turndown ratio for speed flexibility, cleaning cycle and oil drainage system, and TPM monitoring provisions. Do not accept performance claims without reference to validated production data from existing installations.
