Bagging machines fill and seal bags with dry, granular, or powdery bulk products. The main bagging machine types differ in bag format and filling method: open-mouth bagging machines — for pre-made open-top bags (woven PP bags, paper bags, PE bags); the bag is placed or automatically opened over a filling spout; the product is dispensed by a volumetric, gravimetric (net weight), or auger dosing system; the bag is then conveyed to a bag closer (heat seal, sew, or hot glue). This is the standard for food (flour, sugar, rice, dried beans, salt, milk powder), animal feed, chemicals, and agricultural products in 1kg to 25kg bags. Valve bag filling machines — for block-bottom paper or PE valve bags (bags with a self-closing valve in one corner); the valve is pushed over a filling spout; product is blown in under air pressure (fluidisation for powders) or auger-fed; the valve self-closes when the spout is removed; the standard for cement, plaster, fertiliser, and other construction chemicals in 25kg and 50kg bags. FFS (form-fill-seal) bagging machines — the bag is formed inline from a roll of flat film or woven fabric; the roll-stock is shaped into a tube, the bottom is sealed, the product is filled, and the top is sealed; outputs a filled, sealed bag without pre-made bag inventory; suitable for flour, sugar, feed, and other products where a production-scale automated line is desired. VFFS bagging machines — a high-speed FFS format; see VFFS machine suppliers for the standard consumer-pack version; industrial VFFS bagging machines handle heavier fills (5kg, 10kg, 25kg bags). Robotic bagging — robot arm places or moves heavy bags; used for end-of-line bagging, palletising, and bag handling in heavy industrial applications. Product categories for bagging machines: food (flour, rice, sugar, salt, dried pulses, spices, animal feed); construction materials (cement, mortar, gypsum, aggregates, sand); fertilisers and agricultural chemicals; industrial powders (talc, calcium carbonate, starch, pigments); pet food (kibble, dry pet treats).
