Complete edible oil plant scope
A complete edible oil plant integrates all stages from oilseed intake to refined, bottled cooking oil. The full processing chain includes: seed intake, cleaning, and pre-treatment (dehulling for sunflower, cracking and conditioning for soybean); mechanical pressing (screw expeller or cold press); solvent extraction if required (separate hexane extraction unit and solvent recovery); crude oil filtration; degumming; neutralisation (alkali refining); bleaching (activated earth filtration); deodorisation (steam distillation); optional dewaxing (for sunflower and corn oil); and optional fractionation (for palm oil). After refining, the oil is cooled, polished-filtered, and filled into bottles, jerry cans, drums, or bulk IBCs. Turnkey suppliers provide process design, equipment supply, installation, and commissioning. Buyers establish new plants for commercial cooking oil production or for oilseed crushing linked to agricultural production.
Buyer guidance for complete edible oil plants
Before requesting a proposal, specify: (1) oilseed type and available daily supply; (2) extraction method — mechanical only, or pre-press plus solvent extraction; (3) refinery requirement — crude oil only, partially refined, or full RBD; (4) target finished oil specification (FFA, colour, peroxide value); (5) filling and packaging scope — bottle sizes, jerry cans, drums, or bulk; (6) project location and available utilities; (7) solvent handling infrastructure if solvent extraction is included (ATEX-rated facilities, solvent storage, fire and explosion safety); (8) effluent treatment — oil refinery effluent (soapstock, spent bleaching earth, wastewater) requires treatment before discharge; (9) project schedule; (10) commissioning and training scope. Oilseed processing plants represent major capital expenditure — engage a qualified process engineer before finalising a project scope.
