Finished electronic goods (phones, tablets, smart devices): typical MOQs are 100–500 units from factories, 10–50 from trading companies. Electronic components (resistors, capacitors, ICs): often in reels of 1,000–5,000 pieces, with sampling possible from component distributors. Negotiate sample orders of 5–20 units before committing to bulk.

CE marking is mandatory for electronics sold in the EU (Low Voltage Directive, EMC Directive, Radio Equipment Directive depending on product type). UKCA is required for the UK market. RoHS Directive restricts hazardous substances — your supplier must provide an RoHS Declaration of Conformity. WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) registration is required in some EU markets. For wireless devices, RED (Radio Equipment Directive) compliance and FCC (USA) / Ofcom (UK) approval may be needed.

Most electronics ship by air freight due to high value-to-weight ratio (5–10 days from Asia). Batteries and lithium cells require UN38.3 certification and are classified as dangerous goods — not all airlines accept them, and they must be declared separately. PCBs and components often ship sea freight (LCL or FCL) to control costs for bulk orders.

Always request factory test reports and a golden sample before bulk production. Specify PCB version and firmware version in your purchase order to prevent undeclared specification changes.
